For instance: carotenoid nutrients such as lutein and specific forms of zeaxanthin make up your macular pigment. This part of your retina protects underlying photoreceptor cells from the harmful effects of excess blue and ultraviolet light.

Because of this, the density of your macular pigment is essential to healthy vision. Unfortunately, this density naturally declines with age, and some of us lose the ability to synthesize meso-zeaxanthin from lutein over time. That's why this formula contains lutein as well as trans-zeaxanthin and meso-zeaxanthin, which are difficult to get from diet alone. In addition, alpha-carotene has been added based on new evidence that it helps support the macular pigment.

Directions: Take one (1) softgel daily, with food, or as recommended by a healthcare practitioner.
