Ylang Ylang is a Tagalog ( a Filipino Dialect) word meaning wilderness. The tree, indigenous to Asia and the South Pacific, is known as the "perfume tree" due to the aroma of its exotic greenish-yellow flower.

The Ylang Ylang fragrance is distinct. It is heavy, bold, sweet, and exotic. An essential oil is distilled from the flower. This fragrance, back in 1990, became the most recent fragrance to be included in the classic Monoi Tiki Tahiti line due to its world wide popularity.

The dried Tiare flower in this bottle is a trademark of Parfumerie Tiki and is there to show that this product is the real Monoi.
