PABA (para-aminobenzoic acid)

Applications: Eczema, nervous disorders, baldness, hyperthyroidism, stress, infertility. Note: PABA supplements have been known to restore grey hair to its original color in animals; however, this effect in humans has not been substantiated.
Scientific Data:PABA is included in sunscreens for its ability to block UV rays. Taking PABA orally cannot prevent sunburn.
Interactions:PABA is required for the synthesis of folic acid within the body and contributes to the proper metabolism of protein. It has the ability to block against the UV rays of the sun and is commonly used in sunscreen preparations.
